Every year, the Alamo City hosts the longest-running Latino film festival in the nation. The 43rd annual edition of CineFestival returns to the Guadalupe Theater tomorrow through Sun., July 10. The annual event aims to recognize, celebrate, and support Latin and Indigenous filmmakers across Texas. |

🎬 The event will feature: - 85 films, including 12 feature-length films and 73 short films.
- 22 films were made by local filmmakers.
- 10 free screenings, including a dedicated family day.

Pepe Serna: Life is Art | Wed., July 6 at 7:00 p.m. + Fri., July 8 at 10 a.m. | Groundbreaking Mexican-American character actor Pepe Serna finally takes the spotlight in Luis Reyes' joyous ode to Serna's life and the 100+ of his roles that paved the way for generations of Chicanx actors in Hollywood and beyond.

Mija | Thurs., July 7 at 8 p.m. | Raised in an undocumented Mexican family, Doris longed for Latinx indie musicians who sang in Spanglish, understood her experience, and looked familiar; so, she took matters into her own hands.

Earth Mother | Fri., July 8 at 10 p.m. | As dawn breaks, Sera, the Earth Mother, emerges from the depths of the greenbelt in Austin, Texas. She immediately finds herself hunted and pursued by three gnarly witches called The Wyrd Sisters.

A Run for More | Sat., July 9 at 6 p.m. | As a transgender woman in Texas, Frankie Gonzales-Wolfe expected to encounter resistance to her campaign for city council. She did not anticipate questioning her relationship with identity, activism, and civic engagement. On the campaign trail, she finds herself on an unexpected journey of self-discovery and healing.

The iconic San Pedro Springs Pool is finally open for the summer. SATX residents can head to San Pedro Springs Park (the second oldest park in the US) to cool down Sunday-Friday from 1-7 p.m. You can also check out the list of open public pools near you by visiting the website. ☀️

The San Antonio Animal Care Services (SAACS) is hosting a series of planning meetings and wants SATX residents' input. The first public discussion will take place Tue., July 12 at the Frank Garrett Community Center. SAACS hopes to get the community's feedback to plan for future services and resources for local pets. 🐶

Local teen Kaleb Burch is a finalist for a $10,000 scholarship hosted by Duck brand duct tape for his duct tape tuxedo he created himself. His creative attire took 10 rolls + 30 hours to complete. You can vote for him until Wed., July 13. ☑️
