Hello Thursday. April 18 2024 San Antonio, do we have a holiday light event for you. Picture it: you’re walking through a one-mile stretch of captivating illuminations with installations boasting 100,000+ lights. No, you’re not dreaming — you’re at Lightscape.
This one-of-a-kind holiday light exhibit is making its way to Texas for the first time ever at the San Antonio Botanical Garden. The show will run starting this Fri., Nov. 19 through Sun., Jan 2. The photo is enough to spark our interest. | Courtesy of Lightscape Here are some things to expect at this light show spectacular:
💡 Field of Bluebonnets Stroll by a wondrous field of texas bluebonnets made from — you guessed it — thousands of lights.
💡 Cathedral of Light Remember when we said installations with 100,000+ plus lights? This is it. Considered a crowd favorite, the Cathedral of Light is a dazzling cathedral arch tunnel positioned near the end of the trail. Holiday card photo spot — secured.
💡 Shimmering Reflective Pond Also marked as the Laser Pond on the official Lightscape map, the shimmering reflective pond will hold a spectacular light show with synchronized colorful lasers featured at the centerof the path.
💡 Musical Cacti Did we mention that several installations will be complemented by the sonorous sounds of music for the holidays? This installation is no exception — it’s going to be prickin’ awesome.
💡 Festive Foods + Drinks S’mores kit anyone? For foodies like ourselves, one look at the festive menu will have you wondering what the real attraction is. There are four stops during the path with each menu available to view ahead of time for easy planning. Editor Ivan is looking forward to the warm apple fritter at the Sweet Shop and Editor Rossi is looking forward to the classic frito pie at the Holiday Fare. We’re beaming with excitement for this field of lights installation. | Courtesy of Lightscape You can check out the full map of installations and plan your self-guided walking experience here.
